S&P 500 Marks Longest Winning Streak Since 2004

Published: 05.05.2025

S&P 500 futures remained stable early Monday following a historic run of nine consecutive gains—the index’s longest streak in over two decades. The rally was fueled by a strong April jobs report, which showed 177,000 new positions added, exceeding forecasts and easing economic slowdown concerns.

Last week’s market momentum was further supported by signs of renewed trade dialogue between the U.S. and China. With those gains, the S&P 500 has recovered all losses tied to recent tariff tensions and now sits roughly 8% below its all-time high from February.
